Catwalk: Zuhair Murad Spring/Summer 2015

Zuhair Murad's Spring/Summer collection impressed the audience with his stunning detailed gowns which made the perfect feminine statement. Each dress had its own unique elements which could vary between intricate beading, floral embroidery, Diamantes or glittering tassels. Belts were a key accessory in this catwalk as silver or black belts featured on most pieces to emphasize the tiny waist of the models. I love how he has captured the beautiful essence of the female form and has made the creations like something out of a fairy-tale.  The colour theme was very light with shades such as silver, white, blue and beige. Sparkling ruffles and plunging necklines along with flowing silky materials blessed the catwalk and its viewers.

The Makeup

The makeup was kept simple as the detail of the dresses were the main focus. The models were fresh faced but had just the right amount of makeup to compliment the gowns they were dressed in. The base on the skin was light and natural. Brows were groomed but not heavy with product. Gold or browns were used on the lid and in the crease of the eyes to make them glow and mascara and black pencil were used on the lashes and upper and lower lash line. The lips were kept nude and natural. No blush is on the cheeks but a tiny bit of contour is blended under the cheekbones to extenuate the models bone structure.

The Hair 

The hair on this catwalk differs between each model although the most popular style must be the curled glossy style. For this particular look the model has a side parting and the hair has been curled with tongs in loose bouncy curls. The hair is placed over one side of the shoulder and hairspray has probably been used to hold the style and add shine to the hair.
