Catwalk: Jean Paul Gaultier Autumn Winter 14/15

Jean Paul Gaultier's Autumn/Winter Collection was dark and Gothic. The outfit and models almost resembles villains from Disney films such as Cruella Deville. Everything from the way the models strutted down the runway (slow and crossing there legs in front of each other dramatically) to the spooky background music gave the show a twisted fairy-tale vibe. The outfit were accessorized with long cigarette holders and even matching patterned masks. The colour theme was mainly black, white and red which gave it kind of a vampire-esque feel. The pieces featured knitted long cardigans with fur and dark robe like gowns complete with hoods. I love the idea of the haunting and sinister theme which really separates itself from the other collections of the season. 

The Makeup

The makeup for this show was designed by Stephane Marais.

I appreciate how much more creative the makeup is for this show as the other shows I have researched have been pretty simple. The faces were pale with red smokey shadow on the eyes which vamps up the look. The lips were also a blood red with a gloss on top. The cheeks were completely bare and the eyebrows were lightly groomed. 

The Hair 

Odile Gilbert designed the hair for this catwalk show. The hair was coloured with white,red, black and grey colours. Hair extensions were also used to make the hair thicker. Height was added in the front by the use of backcombing and had a Halloween feel to it.  Some of the extensions even had beads attached to the strands which swayed as the models walked. The others just hung loose and straightened at the back.
